BEE Safe Event in P7
25th Mar 2024
Today P7 went to the Bee Safe event in Banbridge Parish Centre which was organised by the Community Policing Partnership. Firstly the children were in the Kitchen Hazards section where the Environmental Health Agency spoke about dangers in the home for various age groups. The class identified all dangers and discussed improvements to make the kitchen safer. After this a PSNI officer spoke to the children about the dangers of vaping, using mobiles responsibly and bullying. The children listened well to her advice and asked some fabulous questions. Next area was Translink’s Safety Bus. The driver told the children how they should behave on buses and showed a video of the consequences of carrying on at the bus stop, pushing and shoving!! PIPS mental health charity spoke next about building resilience and helping people to take time for themselves. Lastly, NI Fire and Rescue Service taught the group about fire safety in the home. They know how to check smoke alarms, avoid charging phones over night and use extension leads instead of traditional overloaded adaptor plugs.
A fantastic morning was had by us all. Thanks again to Mrs Gwen Bartley and her team.
