Over the last 4 weeks some of our P6 and P7 boys have taken part in a boxing programme, along with children from Dromore Central PS. This morning we held an assembly to celebrate their achievements and to present the boys with medals and certificates. We were joined by some special guests including, Mrs Bentley, Principal of DCPS and Mrs Murray the Vice Principal, along with their Chair of Governors Mrs Bland. We also had representatives of Neighbourhood Policing, Martin and Nick and Rhonda from Policing and Community Safety Partnership, who organised and funded the initiative. Councillor Paul Rankin attended to show his support and to congratulate the boys on successfully completing the programme. A huge well done to all the boys: Jack, Rylee, Matthew B, Leo, Daniel, Dara, Coirbin, Excel, Matthew McL and Phillip for their enthusiastic participation and commitment. They have gained new friendships, skills and perhaps aspirations to continue with their boxing in the future! Thank you to the parents who supported this initiative and to everyone involved in making it happen! A special thanks goes to Lisburn Amateur Boxing Club and coaches Robert, Marty and Andy for facilitating the sessions and putting the boys through their paces!
