Katie’s historic visit to The Netherlands
Katie P.3 visited The Netherlands, with her Mum and Dad, to lay flowers at the grave of her Great Great Uncle William Mussen. He was in the Royal Air Force during World War Two when sadly his plane was brought down. William was buried in The Netherlands. Katie and her parents very kindly shared photos of their historic visit. Katie was able to see the actual site where the plane crashed. Her visit to lay flowers at William’s grave was featured in one of the Dutch National Newspapers. During her stay Katie visited a hidden village which was shelter to Jewish families during the war. She also viewed the beautiful castle at Vaassen and a local corn mill. This was a very proud and memorable visit for Katie and her family.
