In our class we are learning about The Olympics. We are completing a project pack from The Belfast Telegraph as well as plenty of our own research and activities. We have learned about the Ancient Olympics and compared them to the Modern Olympics. We have watched video clips of numerous different sports and used iPads to answer questions on worksheets. We studied Tokyo as a host city and did some persuasive writing on the topic of ‘A visit to Tokyo’. We watched an RTE news article about a past pupil of our school who is representing Ireland in the cycling events. We wish Mark Downey the very best of luck and we will all be watching him compete in August! We are only half way through our project and we will update you with our progress soon.
