P2/3 Sentinus STEM Workshop
Today the children in P2/3 participated in a Sentinus Primary STEM workshop held in class. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Roy asked the children to retell the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ Then, the children put on their working bibs and set off to work as engineers to build houses made from sticks, straw and bricks. Their structures were tested by huge huff puffs to see if their homes were strong enough to stay upright. Finally Roy demonstrated how paper rolls could be used to build structures. He tested the strength of the structure by placing books carefully on it. The children were amazed by the number of books it could hold.
They had a super session. Many thanks to Roy who made the session so interesting and fun. He was very impressed by the effort and responses made by the children.
