Today P6/7 were invited down to Dromore High School to participate in Science workshops. Firstly in groups, they had to plan and make a rocket which they set off in the school playground. This was hugely exciting and everyone loved seeing how far their rocket would travel. Next we went to Biology where we potted some plantlets and were allowed to bring these home. We potted strawberries, aloe vera, Bizzie Lizzies, etc. After this we examined pond life under the microscope. It was amazing seeing the animals and insects in each sample! Lastly, we visited the Chemistry room where we played Chemistry Escape Rooms. Each group had to work together and chemical reactions to create numbers which unlocked a cupboard containing sweets!! We all had a fantastic day and learned lots! Thanks to all the pupils and staff in Dromore High, who made us feel very welcome.
